Nifty ended positive for 9 years in a row

Indian stock markets are on a roll since a decade. The benchmark index Nifty50 has ended positive for 9 years in a row despite having faced major negative events like COVID-19 pandemic, major wars and bad economic policies.

I wonder if a negative year is on the horizon and is 2025 going to be that year? Even if it is, my plan is to look at it as a good buying opportunity for long-term. My preferred mode of investment will be Mutual Funds.

My 6 Mutual Funds

Right now I am doing monthly SIP in these 6 mutual funds:

  • ICICI Prudential Bluechip Fund
  • Kotak Emerging Equity Fund
  • Axis Small Cap Fund
  • Parag Parikh Flexi Cap Fund
  • UTI Nifty200 Momentum 30 Index Fund
  • Nippon Nifty500 Momentum 50 Index Fund

My outlook is negative for 2025. In my view, it’ll be a negative year. The post-COVID surge in stock market participation is now subdued and after SEBI’s recent policies to curb retail participation in F&O segment volumes will further dry up.
